Malta Citizenship by Investment
With the ongoing success of Malta’s initial Citizenship-by-Investment Program (MIIP) the recent legislation change has seen the continued success and streamlining of this flagship European Program. With an option to gain Citizenship after either 1 or 3 years of valid residence and differing real estate options based on either purchasing or leasing the required real estate, the Program has continued to go from strength to strength. As the European Union’s only fully incorporated and fully functional CBI Program it gives applicants the ability to become fully-fledged European Union Citizens.

- Residence issued expeditiously upon initial application

Requirements
Option 1:
The first option allows applicants to apply and gain Malta Citizenship after 3-years of valid residence, with a single applicant Donation requirement of EUR 600,000, an additional EUR 50,000 is required for each family dependent added. Along with this donation, there is a philanthropic Donation required of EUR 10,000, applicants can then either purchase real estate in Malta for a minimum threshold of EUR 700,000 or alternatively lease the required real estate for an initial five years with the minimum annual threshold of EUR 16,000. Finally, all applicants must have Global Health Insurance in place during the residence period leading to Citizenship. All adult applicants are required to travel to Malta to complete biometrics and receive the required Residence Cards. Once the Residence period of 3-years has been realized Citizenship can then be applied for and granted. Once Approval in Principle is received in line with the Citizenship application it is at this stage that the required Donation will then be engaged. All applicants will then need to travel to Malta once again to take the required Oath and collect Passports, this would include minor applicants if applicable.
Option 2:

Finally, all applicants must have Global Health cover in place during the residence period leading up to Citizenship. All adult applicants are required to travel to Malta to complete biometrics and receive the required Residence Cards. Once the Residence period of 1-year has been realized Citizenship can then be applied for and granted.
